I have been particularly busy filling out applications for tasks.
I finished HVAC technical school a few weeks ago, and I have been turning in applications all over town. Most of the HVAC companies want to hire someone with experience, despite the fact that I just finished school. I found a couple of places willing to hire me with no experience. I must have filled out 10 or 12 applications in the first week, one of those applications was for a gas furnace repair specialist. They had paper applications in the store, which is much different than some of the other HVAC companies. Most of them wanted me to fill out an application online and wait to hear back. I know it’s better to fill out a paper application in the store, because the business gets to see our face and hear our voice. It’s a good way for them to remember a face with the name on the application, however a few afternoons after I finished our task search, I received a telephone call from 1 of the local HVAC companies. They wanted to call me for an interview, however there was some missing information on our application. When the guy told me that I forgot to enter our social security number, I was dumbfounded and flabbergasted. I could not believe I forgot to fill out 1 simple line. Luckily, the owner of the HVAC business did not care about the mistake and wanted to deliver me an chance to prove our skills. I have an interview set up on Tuesday and I hope this will be the 1.
