My partner tried to fix our oil furnace, although I know she ended up splitting it up

Last week, the weather around here entirely started cooling off fast. As a matter of fact, the temperature dropped so fast overnight that the rain started freezing on the trees. I wasn’t entirely expecting the sudden change in temperature, and neither was my partner. The two of us hadn’t even had our typical Heating, Ventilation plus A/C service and repair done yet, and so our oil furnace wasn’t exactly what you would call ready for the Wintertide season. The two of us tried to turn on our oil furnace since the temperature in the home dropped pretty swiftly, however the oil furnace just wouldn’t turn on! When I turned the temperature on the temperature control up, it just clicked and nothing happened, and no matter what I did, there was no nice heated air coming up through the heating vents. My partner decided to go down to the oil furnace room in the basement and see what she could figure out, then even though I told him not to mess with the oil furnace, she started puttering around with the oil oil furnace anyway… By the time she was finished in the basement, there was black smoke coming through the heating ducts in the hallway by the temperature control. I couldn’t know what I was seeing. Then she ran upstairs, closed the door, and she said for me to get the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company on the iphone as soon as I could. It seems that my partner ended up splitting up our oil oil furnace completely, and both of us had to end up buying a whole current oil furnace! Next time, both of us are definitely going to call an Heating, Ventilation plus A/C professional in the first site.
