When the plumbing has problems, everything can go wrong.
- Last month, my wife and I had some problems with our plumbing.
We found water damage in the bedroom wall when we were cleaning. The wall backs up to our bathroom, so my wife and I were certain the bathroom was the issue. We called a plumber and found out that the toilet flange was the issue. Our problem was the leaking water under the bathroom tile. It caused water damage in the bathroom and the master bedroom. I called the insurance company to talk about the problem. They sent an air specialist to help with the water damage. The guy brought two large industrial dehumidifiers to place in the house. He placed one dehumidifier in the bathroom. We couldn’t use that bathroom for 48 hours. It took awhile to dry all of the floors, but the large dehumidifier really helped. The guy also put another larger dehumidifier in our bathroom. I couldn’t sleep very well. Even though the dehumidifier wasn’t terribly loud, it was aggravating to hear all night long. Everything is better now, but we still have to fix the floor damage. I think we are going to get some tile this time. It will be easier to sweep, dust, and scrub. We are currently getting some contractor bids. I want to take my time, because I want the job done right. I don’t want to pick any old contractor and end up with a lot of trouble. A friend of mine chose a cheap building contractor and the time frame took three times longer and cost twice as much money.
