I hope to get back in good physical shape to play some hoops again

Do you ever look back at the things you used to do and wonder if you are even the same person nowadays? I am not that huge of a dude by any means, however back in private school I was as thin as a rail for the most part.

I honestly ate hardly anything, had yet to discover beer, and my passion was playing pick-up games of basketball down at the rec center.

I would be down there for so many hours, just running the court against anyone who wanted to play, or practicing my excellent moves when no one wanted to play. These days it’s about all I can do to watch basketball on TV, and I haven’t gotten any exercise in quite a few months, maybe longer. A few weeks ago I dug out my own basketball and went down to the courts to just shoot around a little bit and realized how little I had been working out. It was easily embarrassing, so much so that I got myself a gym membership the next afternoon. I didn’t actually get going with working out the next afternoon, mind you, I just went online and decided to get the gym membership. I didn’t entirely go into the gym itself for a few weeks. There honestly was part of myself which thought that paying for the membership was enough exercise to actually get started with. I didn’t want to get into weight lifting, or cross fit, I simply wanted some general cardio that would get me to run full court basketball games once more. I would say I was pretty alright about going to the gym several times a week after a short period of time.
