When people tell me to do things in a particular way, I often won’t listen to them.
When I got my first car, I wore it off because I failed to change the engine oil. My father told me several times to get the oil changed, however, I didn’t get it done. I hope it helps when people explain why you are supposed to do particular things, and how to reach your goals. When I bought a home, my father instructed me that it was crucial to change the air filters of the HVAC system, even though he never said how often. I thought about his warning with the oil changes when I was younger plus thought it had to be crucial. So I went to the store and got some cheap air filters, and changed them every quarter. However, after a while, the air quality was very poor and the HVAC unit started making weird noises. I called my father and informed him regarding the mess at home. He inquired about the intervals at which the air filters are changed. I told him that it is changed quarterly. He got mad at me but wasn’t surprised that I had such problems. It did make sense, as the air filters were very dirty when I replaced them.
