My family is from the north, but I grew up in the south.
My mom moved myself and others here when I was 5.
I visited our dad & the rest of our family during the Summer & some of the holidays. I typically like to spend the Winter time holiday with our dad, because I got to see snow on Christmas. We almost typically had white powder on the ground. I didn’t honestly like the snow & ice until I got older. I still live here in the southern region, & I miss having fresh snow on Christmas day… Around here, the closest the people I was with and I will get is a light drizzle & some fog. I decided to go visit our family this year & I spent more than one weeks in the mountains. I thought I missed the snow, but I was dead wrong. I don’t remember the temperatures being so freezing & freezing; Even with a hat, coat, gloves, & boots, I was still shivering the moment that the people I was with and I walked outside. My dad & our aunt wanted to go skiing, & I thought that would be a fun idea. I was ready to go, until I woke up & the temperature was 8 degrees. I bailed out on the method & spent all day resting in front of the fireplace. It was honestly cozy & nice, & the aroma of burning wood reminded myself and others of being a kid. The fireplace was 1 of the nicest parts of the whole trip. Next time I get a silly method to go out of town for Christmas, I am going to remember these freezing days.
