This man is old school

Despite how bulky and out of date his HVAC unit is, he has seemed to have had very little intentions on replacing it over the past few years.

My father’s seventieth birthday is coming up next weekend, and today my sister gave me a call to bounce a birthday present idea off of me to see what my opinion was. I was expecting a nice gift card, some new golf clubs, or maybe a vacation to the islands if she was being generous. To my surprise, however, she informed me that she was wanting to buy a state of the art air conditioning unit for his home. It took about two or three seconds for me to tell her that I flat out thought it was a terrible idea. If there were two words that would be able to describe my father, it would most definitely be old school. My father has been living in the same house since he was twenty one years old and just about everything inside of it has remained the same. Yes, that includes the HVAC system. Despite how bulky and out of date his HVAC unit is, he has seemed to have had very little intentions on replacing it over the past few years. According to my sister, with this new HVAC system he will be able to save much more money on his monthly heating and cooling bills while also being able to get rid of the constant grinding sounds his current HVAC system makes. I have no idea if he will like it or not but I am pretty certain that my sister is going to get this present for him regardless. Who the heck knows what his reaction will be once my sister tells him the gift, but I am so excited to see what it is, happy or ticked off.
