I would say that the greatest destructive force are my children.
They are always breaking all kinds of things in the household and it drives me crazy.
I don’t know why these kids can’t seem to take care of things. It’s one thing though if it’s their toys they are breaking, another thing if it’s something that belongs to me. It was just the other day when I found the thermostat was broken to pieces on the floor and I was yelling at all the kids about it. I immediately wanted to know who broke the thermostat. I eventually learned it was my older son who did this because he was being reckless in the house and acting like a goofball. He basically was wrestling around with his younger brother and ended up crashing into the thermostat and knocking it off the wall. It’s sad that the thermostat had to meet its fate in such a way. That smart thermostat was expensive too and so I wanted my son to get a job so that he could pay for the damaged thermostat. He ended up working a paper route and he was paying me back little by little. I replaced the old smart thermostat with a newer one that was actually a little more fancy. It had interesting features like letting me know precisely how much energy we use each month with our heating and cooling system. I actually feel that it’s a great thing my son is working a paper route because he is learning to be more responsible. Even after he paid all the money back for the damaged thermostat, he chose to still keep his job.
