My Daughter Builds Custom Made Furniture

I never stop being amazed by my daughter.

She is an adult and only six months away from turning thirty, and still she says and does things that make me so proud of her.

Recently, after she bought her first house, she was having trouble finding a wooden table for this awkward space in her house. She actually wasn’t sure if she wanted to decorate in a contemporary condo style or stick to traditional excellence at home. When nothing really jumped out at her, she decided to try her hand at making custom built furniture for her awkward little corner space. She decided against the wooden table and went with a multi-purpose bar with concrete top. I considered the look more along the lines of contemporary condo, but not completely. Once she built that custom made furniture, she was hooked. She built me a bed that suits my taste. It is sort of rustic meets traditional and performs well and looks good. The only problem is that it doesn’t come apart and will be impossible to move without taking off the bedroom door! My brother who lives in the southwest and prefers the southwest style asked her if she could build him some custom made furniture, as well. The turquoise and clay colors complemented the oak furniture she created for his family room. He has been happy with it for years now. Even a friend of mine contacted Sarah to create some custom built furniture for her. She wanted a reading seat to go along the wall and around the corner with drawers that can be used for storage. Sarah built the wooden furniture part and someone else made the cushions. It’s gorgeous!
