We’re going to hold off on radiant heated floors for now

Recently a good buddy of mine moved into a property with radiant heated floors and. I truly have to admit, they were totally nice! I loved not having my feet easily heated on the hardwood floor & she said it was much cheaper on a monthly basis to heat her property. She told me that she didn’t even realize the property had radiant floor heating when she first purchased it but that it has been a delightful benefit. This all just sounded so fantastic! The moment I got home, I asked my hubby what he thought about us getting radiant floor heating & he said he would look into it. Turns out, it’s a terrible hassle! First of all, in order to install radiant floor heating, you have to rip up your existing floor. I get that this might not be all that shocking to a lot of people, but for me it didn’t actually cross my mind that I would have to tear everything up! Secondly, I knew it would be high-priced, although I didn’t know it would cost me less money to replace my entire gas heating equipment! Hydraulic systems were completely recommended over electric, but this genre of radiant floor heating was the most extravagant! It was just too much work to get radiant heat flooring for our property. My hubby recommended that perhaps if we get our next property built from the ground up, we could actually consider radiant floor heating but for the moment we would just keep heating & cooling costs cheap with prudent practices & hold off on the radiant floor heating.
