My son just turned 10 years old. I cannot believe my little boy is in the double digits, but it happened! In celebration of this monumental birthday, his father and I agreed to let him have a big birthday party at our house. What a tremendous mistake that turned out to be. My son’s birthday is on Independence Day- so, it’s in the middle of the summer. That morning as we were preparing, our air conditioner went out. I’m not joking. And, since it was Independence Day, my husband and I didn’t think that our HVAC provider would be open. We were right. We called the HVAC provider’s number and they were closed for the holiday. We figured we could host the party outside, but it was supposed to be a sleepover and I couldn’t handle the idea of a bunch of sweaty ten-year-olds in a small house with no air conditioning. My husband remembered that he had the cell number of the HVAC technician who took care of our regular air duct cleanings. He sent him a quick text asking if he would mind coming out and the HVAC technician responded right away and was there in a matter of minutes! We were so grateful, I cannot express enough gratitude to our HVAC technician. He’s the best! It also turned out to be a pretty quick fix, so we had the AC running on full blast by the time my son’s guests showed up. It was great to have the air conditioner fixed but all the air conditioning in the world couldn’t help with the horrendous mess those boys left behind! My goodness! Maybe we should have hosted it outside…
