I’ve never been the book club type, then don’t get myself and others wrong, I love reading, however I have never felt the draw to read in a group.
- That has changed recently and I did end up joining a book club.
I found out that I do appreciate talking about books with other people, and besides, it gives myself and others a chance to get away from the adolescents, and have a glass of wine, every now and then. The only thing I do not love about the book club is how cold the club leader’s lake house constantly is. I guess some clubs meet at uncommon houses every month or they meet at a steakhouse, then our club doesn’t do that… Every one of us meet in the founders lake house every time, however and every time, her lake house is cold cold. The air conditioner must be set to under 60 degrees. I do not guess for sure because I have never found the temperature control. I have looked for it, on several occasions, but I just can’t find it. It must be hidden away fairly well. The other ladies in the book club are also cold and both of us have started making a little bit of a joke about it. Every one of us all dress up warm whenever both of us come to the club meetings. Every one of us also drop little hints. One of the ladies straight up asks that both of us turn the furnace on. All of this gets us nowhere, then meeting after meeting, we are cold cold. Maybe that’s why both of us constantly read books about sunny, warm vacations. The last book both of us read unquestionably took a place in hell. I have to say, that sounded more comfortable than our meeting place. Bit, I do appreciate going to my book clubs, Even if the air conditioner is blasting away.
