I am the first to admit that I am not the most mechanically inclined although I have to share a situation that left myself and others feeling more clueless than ever.
Both of us bought our beach house about numerous years ago plus I have been able to repair a few small things over that time.
When it comes to anything more than tightening a screw or decreasing a lightbulb I depend on our partner as she grew up in a house where her dad fixed just about everything. This, by the way, makes myself and others assume even more foolish at times. I grew up in an apartment where everything was just fixed for us by the building repair guy. Anyway, when the heat broke a few weeks back I called our Heating plus A/C company to have them send out a serviceman. Both of us have a simple boiler plus baseboard heat which normally doesn’t require that much repair. I figured it would be an simple repair plus the guy would be on his way. I took the day off plus waited for the repair guy to show up. I figured an minute tops for the appointment plus he would be on his way. Well all of that changed when he told myself and others that I would have to call in an electrician too. It turned out that mice had chewed through some of the wiring in the wall plus caused the electrical ignition panel on the boiler to short circuit, then not only were every one of us going to have to pay to have that fixed however every one of us would need the wiring fixed before every one of us could turn the heat back on. I was thrilled to hear that our serviceman had a number for someone that could come out that same day plus every one of us had our heat back on by nightfall.
