It was already more expensive to work from home – keeping fan running

I am literally terrified right now.

No, it’s not exactly because of the viral outbreak.

Though it is tangential to the entire issue. Personally, I’m not worried about contracting the corona virus. I’m relatively young and healthy, and most illnesses blow right through my immune system. I don’t get very sick very often, and I recover very quickly. That being said, I am very worried about the effects of this global pandemic on our economy and normal way of living. I’m not sure that things will be the same once this is all said and done. More than anything, I am worried about finances and the economy. It seems like the stock market is on the continual downfall right now, and in the meantime, we are spending more money than ever trying to get through this thing. As much as I enjoy working from home, it’s more expensive. We have to operate our lights, our computers, and our indoor air temperature equipment all day long in order to stay comfortable and productive. We can’t rely on our smart thermostats to turn off our air conditioning system during normal work hours. Instead, we are at the mercy of our indoor air quality handling equipment, relying on it for temperature, humidity, and contamination control. There’s no two ways around using our central HVAC system… But I do think we could be a little bit smarter with our air quality control. For instance, when I asked my wife why the thermostat fan was set to “On” all day long, I wasn’t expecting her to say that she enjoyed the background noise of the HVAC system to break the uncomfortable silence working from home.
