Romantic getaway ruined by hotel HVAC

When you’ve been married for 15 years it’s difficult to keep things hot and spicy.

  • My partner and I have seen each other through and through at this point.

Not only have we experienced every intimacy possible, but it’s hard to feel so full of excitement when you share a bathroom with someone, too. That’s why my husband and I decided we should go on a romantic getaway a few weeks ago to reignite some flames. We booked a hotel room in a scenic area of the state and decided to head out for the weekend. Unfortunately, the hotel didn’t get the memo about our hot plans. I say this, because the hotel room was sweltering by the time we checked in. We walked into our modest suite and realized that the indoor air was so hot and humid we could barely breathe. Immediately, we walked over to the central heating and cooling system in the room and attempted to adjust the air temperature to a lower degree. Unfortunately, turning down the heat didn’t seem to make a difference with the temperature that was flowing through the vents. That’s when we decided to switch over to the cooling setting on the mini split ductless heating and cooling system. We waited about 10 minutes and realized that the indoor air was still not getting any cooler. That’s when we attempted to open a window for some natural ventilation and found out that fresh air was not a possibility. Eventually we called it down to the desk to complain about our heating and cooling disaster but they had no additional rooms to offer us. My husband and I spent the weekend several feet apart, sweating… Not getting hot and steamy together.
