I used to live in the city.
- I once even talked to someone who told me that her family had spent their entire life residing here in a single block of the city.
I thought she was kidding, but she was serious. She said point blank, she had everything she needed there. There was a bus stop to take everyone to and from work. She had groceries stores, churches, and a bar if she wanted an extra supplier. She also had a pizza joint, a Chinese restaurant and several other high quality restaurants in the immediate area. She couldn’t figure out what else she needed, other than a large laundromat that had washing machines that worked all the time. I had to laugh at that simple request since my washing component in my loft building didn’t toil all the time. When the global pandemic hit, even more people were staying within their block. They knew all of the local restaurants and they were all making local food deliveries. They could call the grocery store themselves, and by simply giving their debit card info, they had food delivery separate from ever needing to see the other lady. Local food delivery had taken on a whole modern meaning these days, due to the pandemic. I had moved out of the town by the time the pandemic began in the world. I was residing in a small rural town that wasn’t much greater than a town block. The little town didn’t have the amenities you had in a town block. There were multiple pizza shops, churches, and one convenience store fastened to a garage. There was no such thing in those parts as local food delivery, since I was 10 miles from the nearest sizable area. I would particularly think I’d adore to have local food delivery, however I’m not going to transfer my life to get it.
