My little brother was talking to me on the cellphone the other afternoon and I know I might have made his mad.
- She was telling me that every night their 17 year old child goes to his room, closes the door, and shortly thereafter their furnace kicks on.
She said it like it was some sort of funny coincidence that the furnace kicks on every afternoon after their child goes to his room. I asked if it is the same time every night and he said that it wasn’t. She said it varies from afternoon to afternoon however that it regularly happens immediately after he goes in his room. The reason he got mad at me is because I said that my nephew must be smoking something that he doesn’t want his parents to know about. He opens his dining room window, maybe turns on a fan, smokes, then closes everything back up before he goes to sleep. That is why the furnace kicks on. I told my brother to go near his son’s room and see if he feels a draft from under the door if he didn’t guess me. She immediately got all huffy. She swore up and down that his child was a perfect little angel and that I was making a sizable deal about a weird coincidence with the furnace. I raised 3 kids so I know what I am talking about, however my oldest was regularly trying to get away with stuff like this. But yup, I observed the draft and I observed that the a/c regularly turned on when he was in his room.
