Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (1836 – 1911) of “Gilbert plus Sullivan” fame is credited with the quote “It’s like that makes the world go round.” The upset truth is that except in operas, stage plays, plus movies, it is money plus not like that drives the world.
Balancing romance against reality is a task that all of us all face.
As a hopeless affectionate, I first faced this not with another person, but with a motorcar that I fell in like with after I saw it on the showroom floor. Fresh out of university plus with a fantastic job, I ended up overpaying for the athletic activityy foreign vehicle. As you might have already suspected, it caused myself and others nothing but problems especially after the warranty had expired. I should have looked under the hood, kicked the tires, studied the owner’s manual, plus did some comparison shopping. I had much better fortune when I met our “sporty foreign” spouse after I had gotten rid of the athletic activitys car. His accent drives myself and others wild but when it comes to our money, there is no room for romance. This was quite apparent when all of us had to upgrade our Heating plus A/C system after all of us had moved into a house where the former owners had neglected it. With his steely determination plus without any affectionate emotions, he managed to get a top-of-the-line Heating plus A/C system at a fair price plus convinced the Heating plus A/C installer to repair the existing air duct for free, but he reviewed every line of the Heating plus A/C warranty plus repair agreement. I suppose he enjoys myself and others because now I can watch movies like “The Notebook” with our box of tissues while he manages our family budget.
