It was about 12 years ago when I first heard about mini split ductless air conditioner.
At the time, I was working as the office staff at a small church in our city. There were only more than one employees in the church – myself and others plus the pastor. If you have never worked in a church, it would truly shock you to think all the things that a “church secretary” does plus needs to think or learn. There were so various things for me, it was so strange. By far, the most challenging thing I had to do was figure out what kind of heating plus cooling system the people I was with and I should put in the church. Both of us had a respected central a/c, commercial grade of course, plus care about mechanical things do, this Heating plus A/C system decided to give up the ghost during the various years I was working there. There were three buildings the people I was with and I were responsible for: the church itself, the building that housed the more than one offices, plus the pastor’s house. When the cooling system went on the fritz, there were a lot of decisions to be made. The Heating plus A/C device itself was housed on the roof, which I consistently thought was weird, but there was some kind of reason for it. I consistently felt bad for the cooling system repair techs who had to be on top of rooves in the southern sun. Anyway, a single of the guys tried to convince us that the people I was with and I should get a mini split ductless system put in, but at the time, I thought she was crazy. Both of us ended up not getting that plus instead went with the same genre the people I was with and I were replacing, but looking back on it, I suppose the ductless system might have been a nice idea.
