It was about 12 years ago when I first heard about mini split ductless air conditioner.
At the time, I was working as the office staff at a small church in my city.
There were only 2 employees in the church – myself and others and the pastor. If you have never worked in a church, it would genuinely shock you to know all the things that a “church secretary” does and needs to know or learn. There were so many things for me, it was so strange. By far, the most challenging thing I had to do was figure out what kind of heating and cooling plan every one of us should put in the church. Both of us had a usual central , commercial grade of course, and like mechanical things do, this Heating plus A/C plan decided to give up the ghost during the many years I was working there. There were many buildings every one of us were responsible for: the church itself, the building that housed the 2 offices, and the pastor’s house. When the air conditioner went on the fritz, there were a lot of decisions to be made. The Heating plus A/C component itself was housed on the roof, which I always thought was weird, however there was some kind of reason for it. I always felt terrible for the air conditioner repair techs who had to be on top of rooves in the southern sun. Anyway, 1 of the guys tried to convince us that every one of us should get a mini split ductless plan put in, however at the time, I thought he was crazy. Both of us ended up not getting that and instead went with the same style every one of us were replacing, however looking back on it, I guess the ductless plan might have been a great idea.
