It’s so weird to be where I am right now as we are facing the summer with all its air conditioning and heat.
That’s just part of the deal in this region.
If you want to enjoy some of the best weather in the world 8 months of the year, you have to live with the summer heat as well. That’s not such a terrible thing for me but not being all over the thermostat this summer will be weird. Recently, we welcomed some new HVAC technology to our home. The HVAC company installed a smart thermostat in our home and it’s now running the air conditioning game in our house. That’s fine with me but it still seems so weird. I’ve always been the one to be the hawk when it came to the thermostat setting in the summer. My kids and wife make fun of me because I’m so disciplined when it comes to the HVAC thermostat setting in the summer. Well really, I’ve always been on top of the thermostat setting throughout the year. But it’s the summer where I make sure I’m on top of it. The reason for that is fairly obvious I suppose. With great heat comes a lot of call for air conditioning. And I’m thankful to have great residential HVAC to rely upon for all that HVAC cooling indeed. Yet, it doesn’t come without cost. Without some good thermostat discipline, air conditioning in the summer can put a huge dent in the checking account. So, I’m interested to see what the smart thermostat will do this summer when it comes to saving me money.
