It had been several years since I met our brothers up in the mountains to fish the beautiful streams as well as rivers of that region.

Being the youngest, I felt that I was always trying to catch up to our brothers on those trips. Yet, our dad was always so great about making sure that he got us out of the air conditioner of apartment as well as up to the cottage whenever he could. That cottage was one of the prides of our dad’s life. It didn’t have any sort of residential Heating plus A/C. It was just so basic. There was a pot bellied stove for heating during the Wintertide trips. But we didn’t go up there all that much in the winter. My mom just didn’t care about us being up there with the option of getting snow in for a long time. I guess dad sort of relished the program that he’d get stuck up there as well as would have to rely on the heating of a wood stove as opposed to the gas oil furnace at home. So when I finally agreed to meet our brothers at the cottage for fishing, I was stunned to see all the swings. They had installed a ductless heat pump so we had Heating plus A/C cooling at evening after a long day in the sun. The Heating plus A/C unit updates weren’t the only improvements either as we now had an indoor toilet as well. My brothers did a great task as well as it was such a surprise for me. I’m looking forward to getting up there as well as enjoying that current ductless heat pump as much as I can going forward.
