Storms happen frequently during hurricane season.
I might not ever get hit with a hurricane, but it doesn’t mean that I still won’t end up with damages during the season.
Even a good tropical storm can bring down lots of rain and wind. Rain and wind cause damage on their own. The trees aren’t groomed very well in the neighborhood. During the last storm, two of the trees fell on the power lines. Since the entrance to the neighborhood was flooded, there was no way to get crews to the neighborhood to fix the power problem. We were out of power for 5 days. During that time I worried about the items in the freezer. My kids complained about the fact that there was no power and no AC. They weren’t concerned with the $300 worth of groceries that I purchased two days before the storm. They were concerned with the fact that it was 85° in the house and they couldn’t play Pokemon on the nintendo. Sometimes my kids drive me crazy and it’s times like that when I want to remind them how spoiled they are. During those five days the kids whined and complained frequently about the lack of air conditioning. When the power was finally back on, they did not leave their room for days and days. They stayed inside the bedroom and under the blankets and played video games all day. They didn’t even want to go to the pool when a couple of friends called. They had enough heat during those five days to last the rest of the summer.
