I was determined to be able to manage all of the indoor and outdoor upkeep.
However, the new location is much larger. The house includes a lot more square footage and the lawns and gardens are extensive. We now have a swimming pool, a gazebo, a patio and a boat dock on the river. Both my husband and I work full-time and we have three boys who are involved in travel hockey. When we’re not at work, we are frequently driving to and from hockey rinks or sitting in the bleachers. We spend most weekends in hotels across the northeastern part of the country for hockey tournaments. The rare free-time I have, I don’t want to scrub the toilets and tubs. I would rather have quality time with my family, swim in the pool or go out on the boat. We’d already hired a lawn crew and professionals to take care of the swimming pool. When I noticed that the house looked dusty, cluttered and neglected, I finally gave in. I hired a professional cleaning company to take care of the inside house. They spend several hours on various cleaning tasks every Wednesday. Along with the regular vacuuming, mopping and dusting, they focus on different, more intensive jobs every week. Sometimes they clean all the windows. Other times, they launder the curtains and steam clean the rugs. It has been such a relief. I can now trust that the house is always picked up and clean. I’m sure we’re enjoying a healthier living environment. It also takes a great deal of stress off me.
