When the HVAC company told me I needed new ductwork, I bought it.
Within three days, the ductwork was delivered, but they only delivered it into my living room.
The delivery driver refused to take it into the basement, and I was afraid to move it. I called my husband at work and asked what I should do with the duct work. He told me to let it go until he got home. I called the HVAC company and told them the ductwork was delivered and they wanted to set up an appointment to have it installed. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any appointments open for two weeks. Had I needed the heating or air conditioning at that time, I may have been upset, but we had a month between needing air conditioning and the furnace. I had plenty of time to wait. What wasn’t making sense was that no one wanted to hear that I already had the ductwork in the house? When my husband got home, he looked at the boxes. He wasn’t sure what was for the attic, and what was for the basement. There was nothing on the boxes to differentiate what went where. He moved all the boxes to the side of the room and called his boss. He had invited him over for dinner and told him that when he walked into the house; he wanted him to be aware of the mess. I heard his boss’s laughter from the other side of the room as my husband told him the story. When he hung up, he said the HVAC company did the same thing to him a month earlier.
