I wasn’t sure if the Heating and A/C worker was teasing us or being nasty last week.
The people I was with and I had a concern with our gas furnace many times in the last many months, and it was the same Heating and A/C worker who was there this week.
She told us she could not find any problems, however I knew she was wrong. I finally told him that our fiance was getting sick, and both of us needed to find what was wrong with the gas furnace. She asked if she was pregnant? I was seventy-two, and she was seventy. Did she certainly think both of us were going to have a baby? My face must have shown him I was not amused, because she sobered. I told him I had that gas furnace installed a year ago, and it should still be under warranty. She called the Heating and A/C office and asked about the warranty on the gas furnace. When she got off the iphone, she asked if both of us had purchased the extended warranty. The people I was with and I had a one-year warranty on the gas furnace, and that one year ended many months earlier. It ended many afternoons before the gas furnace started having problems. She told me that if both of us had purchased the extended warranty and the maintenance agreement, both of us would be fully covered for all the repairs. I wasn’t offered the maintenance agreement, and I thought I had a several-year warranty. Why would I buy an extended warranty when I had a several-year warranty. She shrugged and told me both of us got everything both of us deserved. I went ballistic and called the Heating and A/C supplier. I got our repairs taken care of, and I was offered a one-year maintenance agreement if I paid for the hour year. I hoped she got what she deserved when she went back to the office.
