The problem was a refrigerant leak but the HVAC technician was able to rectify the problem.
Well, at least I’m in better shape when it comes to the heating and cooling equipment than I was last year. About a year ago, the HVAC technician came out to do the annual air conditioning tune up. This is something I get done by HVAC professionals every, single spring. And spring comes early where I live so you have to be on top of taking care of the heat pump. But last year, the HVAC technician told me that the heat pump was getting toward the end of its usefulness. I took him at his word but I for sure wasn’t ready to bail on a heat pump that was still producing good quality heating and air. It wasn’t a question of whether or not I had money saved up for a new residential HVAC. Rather, I just wanted to get the most out of the heating and cooling equipment that has been in this house for 25 years. I had already started saving to replace the HVAC unit so that wasn’t a problem. I just like to get the most out of equipment. Before it really even got hot, I came home to the HVAC unit running but no cooling coming from the air ducts. I knew better than to try to do anything myself and I called the HVAC company. The problem was a refrigerant leak but the HVAC technician was able to rectify the problem. Then July came and once again, we reached for some cooling comfort and there was nothing. This time the HVAC technician told me there may not be a next time as far as another HVAC repair. So we put our plan into place and set a date with the HVAC contractor to install the new HVAC technology we had picked out.
