I have lived in my house for about 7 years now, and I have had the same HVAC technician since I moved in.
- And John is one of the kindest people I know.
He is also one of the funniest servicemen I have ever met in my life. While performing service on my HVAC unit, he always has a wild and crazy story to share with me. A few months ago, he came to perform my yearly inspection and tune up and he proceeded to tell me about a lady who called for HVAC service, but refused to let him inside her home to fix her unit. She was an elderly lady, so he said he was patient with her. He said he arrived in his work van as well as his uniform that clearly displays the name of the company. When he rang the bell, he said she did not open the door. Instead, she asked him to go to the back of the house where the outside unit was. She had a split system with a condenser outside and the air handler was located inside in a closet. He was able to inspect the condenser and found no issues with it, so he needed to check the air handler. Because she was an elderly woman, he remained patient and calm with her. After he explained that he found nothing wrong with the outdoor condenser, and the problem must be with the air handler, she finally opened the door to let John in. Thankfully, the issue was minor – her drain pipe was clogged and needed to be cleaned out. John was able to get it done and had her A/C up and running in no time. I am glad he has a great sense of humor and is able to deal with customers like that.
