When I was young, my mom always had a vehicle.
We lived in a major city where a motorcar was more of a hindrance than anything else.
Parking was always difficult, and the traffic was hectic regardless of what time it was. Still, having a motorcar was never ideal except when we took trips outside of the city. Those trips were always fun, and I looked forward to them all the time. It was on those road trips where I first heard my mom tell me that it was illegal to drive with the lights on in the car. I wanted to play a game that required me to see inside the car, so when I asked my mom about the light, it was then that she said it was illegal to have the light on while driving. As an adult, I soon discovered that there is nothing illegal about it. There are so more than 2 things that I know that are complete myths. It was just recently that I found out that closing the air vents of the Heating, Ventilation & A/C equipment does not save money. For years, I thought this myth was correct because I heard it from my mom. She always closed the Heating, Ventilation & A/C air vents to unoccupied rooms in our beach house and insisted that it helps to save money because no air will flow to those areas. Little did mom know that closing the air vents to the Heating, Ventilation & A/C equipment would cause more harm than good. It could cause the heating and cooling unit to overheat or cause leaks inside the HVAC ducts. I told my mom that closing the air vents to save money is a myth, but she has decided to stick with this practice.
