I needed a new heater for my pool.
- Although I lived in the south, the pool water was still cold in the morning.
It would rain and the cold rain cooled off the water. I didn’t realize how cool it got until the pool heater broke. I called the pool company and asked what a pool heater would cost for my pool. They gave me a quote that was much higher than I expected, but they offered free installation, and they would clean the pool as part of the package deal. My pool would have heated water again, and it would be clean, which was more than I expected. My problem was that the heater they installed wasn’t big enough for my pool. When I called them back to tell them they had installed the wrong heater, the manager argued with me. He said I had chosen the heater for my pool. If it wasn’t the proper heater, it was my fault. They would exchange the heater for the right one, but I would pay a prorated price for the one I got, plus the cost for the new heater. Something sounded fishy about this, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I called my brother and told him about the pool heater. He told me they gave me back the money, but they prorated it I used it for three days, but they took 10% off what I paid, for using the pool. The remaining 90% went toward the new pool water heater. I now understood they had ripped me off.
