When I was about twenty years old, I moved out of our parents’ home and into a quaint little home with 2 of our friends.
It was a decision all of us made as a group, as all of us were planning to attend school in the coming Spring and all of us were going to be engineering majors.
The people I was with and I had this appealing vision of us sharing workspaces, laboring together on hard projects, and coming out on top! Unfortunately, even the most tight-knit groups can be unraveled by the simplest of concerns. For us, that was the air quality in our home. It was about more than two weeks into us living together in that home that I began to notice a drop in air quality. There was dust building up on the countertops, couches, tables and even all over the floor. It was appreciate all of us were being visited by some kind of dust devil at evening! As if that wasn’t bad enough, our 2 friends wound up dropping out of the engineering program at our school. They had no idea what they would do until a new major was chosen, so they felt they should just move back in with their parents. I was alone in a home full of dust! I had no option but to call our own parents, and ask for advice. They put myself and others in touch with our cousin, who is an Heating and A/C repair professional, and was able to come by and supply the needed cleaning services for the idea at a discounted rate; At least I had solid air quality returned to our home!
