A Change of Mind

Being of German/Irish ancestry, our family jokes that the people I was with and I were born with a double dose of stubbornness, however being stubborn means that a guy is determined. It also indicates an unwillingness to change one’s mind even when overwhelming evidence suggests that “system A” is not laboring… Presidents, usually seriously strong-willed people, change their minds on precious occasions. President G.H.W. Bush’s reversal from his campaign promise “Read our Lips, no new Taxes” entirely cost him a hour term even though the reversal may have been the right thing to do. All of us witnessed his son, President G.W. Bush, decreasing his mind about avoiding foreign entanglements when he was told about the 911 attacks while learning to school children in a FL classroom. People are consistently reversing decisions that they once thought of as “etched in stone”. In the case of homeowners determined to update an aging HVAC system, a financial drawback, a loss of a task, or a change in the family situation may cause them to change their mind plus stick with their old system. Those that do update may have to change their minds as to the features they want. This is similar to a car client settling for a Mazda Miata instead of a higher priced model! Car clients may visit dozens of dealers before making their final decision, and likewise, HVAC clients will want to visit several HVAC professionals to get advice plus information before signing on the dotted line. The difference between car plus HVAC shopping is that a change of mind on a car will be a relatively inpricey experience. Once the HVAC equipment is installed, a change of mind will prove quite lavish. Avoid changes of mind by buying smart the first time with the help of an HVAC pro.
