A hurricane looms off the coast

There seems to be a massive hurricane headed our way.

  • However, nobody really knows where it’s going to hit.

There are so many different areas in the potential danger zone that we are all scrambling to take precautionary measures in case we are chosen as the landfall sight. It actually doesn’t matter if the storm doesn’t make landfall in one’s particular area, however, because it is so huge that it will affect nearly all of us anyway. I’m a bit conflicted. On the one hand, I don’t wish this storm on anyone. On the other hand, I know how terribly I deal with hurricanes that are powerful enough to knock out power for a long time. I don’t mind living in the dark for a while, but I do mind living without climate control in such a hot climate. Maybe if hurricanes tended to hit in the winter time, it wouldn’t be so bad, but that wouldn’t make sense. Instead, they often hit when we’re still dealing with what is essentially summer weather, when we are all still relying heavily on our air conditioner to keep us comfortable. I swear, as long as me and my family have enough supplies to make it, lack of A/C is the only thing that really bugs me when the power goes out during a hurricane. It already seems like work is canceled for the first few days of next week because of the storm. Who knows, maybe I will get lucky and the storm will hit us just hard enough to justify not coming into work, but not hard enough to knock out our power!
