Once I really did live downtown.This was several years ago, because I was young and wanted to live near the action.
The bad thing was that the place was tiny! It was pretty itsy bitsy.
I usually did not mind that much, because I was just a happy camper in the middle of the city. But anyway, of course the weather here can occasionally be all over the place, and you would have thought that in my case because my place was so cute, as it were,, with teeny windows plus low ceilings plus the whole small nine yards, that when I would want to heat or cool the place, it would happen as if by royal decree! Well that was true. In the summer time I would turn on the a/c, plus in the winter, the heater, and within hours I would be perfectly, comfortably sizzling or cool. Yet as I found out, even that really has risks too, because the thing was, the Heating and A/C idea in that building was no perfect match for all the sizes of living units plus heat or cold traps that always parts of a building are going to have. In the case of my own unit, it would heat up so fast that it would then turn itself off before the heating had a occasion to add any moisture back into the air at mine, and so my place would be easily as dry as the desert in the Winter as a result. But I had a plan soon-I got my own small space electric heater plus also a dehumidifier; By doing this it provided myself and others the perfect repair for when it wasn’t that cold. Or when it did get super duper cold I could just blast the old central heating.
