I have a very large tree on the side of my lake house that is quite a bit of work.
This tree grows very fast and quickly becomes oversized for the location.
It causes a lot of concerns. Not only does it drop a tremendous amount of leaves and sticks, the tree also blocks the central heating and air conditioning unit. The heating and cooling equipment needs access to the outside air. The tree prevents this and further threatens performance by dropping debris onto the HVAC unit. I have hired a landscaping company to come and trim branches several times over the years. The tree just seems to grow even faster once it’s been groomed. I am getting tempted to have the tree completely removed. I would miss the shade it provides. I’d hate to give up the view of the leaves changing colors in the fall. However, my central heating and air conditioning system recently began making some odd noises. The problems in performance were caused by a buildup of leaves, dirt and branches from the tree. The last thing I want to deal with a malfunctioning heater or air conditioner. I don’t want to be left without temperature control or pay a huge repair bill. I’ve also nearly hurt myself attempting to trim the tree on my own. Balancing on a ladder and trying to maneuver a heavy chainsaw or cumbersome pair of loppers is a bit of risk. The sooner I can get the tree removed, the better. The tree is old enough that I’m a little worried about it during severe weather. High winds could lead to it falling down and crushing the HVAC unit or causing major damage to my roof. The last time an HVAC professional serviced the air conditioner, he even remarked that the tree was a big problem.
