Over the course of my HVAC career I have dealt with a large variety of clients both good and bad.
Keep in mind that at least ninety percent have been good, but there are always those bad ones few and far between.
While I would like to consider myself to be one of the lucky ones that has had a majority of them be good clients that I have actually become friends with over the years, I would have to say that the worst clients I have had over the past 20 years are without a doubt my parents. I don’t think I could ever be able to tell you the exact reason why this is the truth, but for some reason whenever I head over to my parents house to catch up with them and have dinner they never fail to bring up something that they need fixed with their air conditioning unit. Despite the fact that I have already offered at least a dozen times to replace that old piece of junk from the seventies with a more modern HVAC unit that will last them for many years to come, these two are just simply stuck in their old ways and would rather give me a hard time about fixing by old thing rather than taking care of the actual problem. The worst part is that while my other clients pay me, the hard work I do for these two always ends up being 100% free. Yes, of course I love my parents, but after so many years of doing free HVAC repairs I guess you can say that I’m starting to get a little bit tired of it. I guess that just comes with the territory of having elderly parents house. After a lifetime of taking care of me, I guess it’s time for me to take care of them.
