Somehow, there are many people in the world that willingly go without a/c, but some do it to save money, others do it to save the planet, however whatever the reason is, I can’t imagine going without a heating & cooling unit! In our opinion, air conditioned loft is a must.
I will tell you, that I did go for a while without heating & air conditioning, & I was so miserable! I had never had such difficulty sleeping & concentrating in our life! It is amazing all of the little things that all of us take for granted, until all of us lose them! The reason for the lack of a/c is because our dad had forgotten to take care of it, & it sat neglected for several years, and finally, while in one brutal summer, the a/c component couldn’t seem to handle it anymore & broke down; My dad continued to take her sweet time getting it repaired, & it very wasn’t repaired until a few months later.
When it finally was repaired, I was absolutely just getting used to the blazing heat, & when I did finally feel the cooling air, I was so relieved… Thankfully then all of us didn’t have any kind of Heating & Air Conditioning issue til numerous years down the road, & even then, I was close to moving out & didn’t have to deal with it, however now in our own home, I make sure that the central cooling is constantly respectfully took care of every single year, & frequently changing out the HEPA air filter. I have yet to have an issue, & I have great indoor air quality.
