Air conditioning is much more than just blowing cooling air

So we don’t have to spend all summer with bleach and water trying to knock back the mildew in our homes

This summer was right within the margins once again. It was hot. It was humid. And it lasted for about 4 months. That’s pretty much par for the course when it comes to what you can expect out of our regional summer weather. The calendar has flipped to October which allows me to officially refer to summer in the past. And that doesn’t hurt my feelings. I actually lowered the thermostat a few degrees during the peak heating hours of the day. That’s how you know for sure that we are over summer. The air conditioning isn’t even coming on much until well into the afternoon. But after all the HVAC cooling we need to manage the summer heat, that too is a welcome sight. I wouldn’t even know how to live here if there wasn’t access to the wonderful residential HVAC that we all seem to just take for granted. While I do my best to acclimate to the heat through the spring and early summer, it’s still so nice to have HVAC cooling to count on. But the air conditioning is doing more than simply blowing cooler air. Actually, the air conditioning is also making sure that we aren’t overrun with mold and mildew. The air conditioning process starts by moving heat energy outside. And with that, the heat pump takes a bunch of moisture from the air as well. Thus, we have balanced humidity levels inside our home. So we don’t have to spend all summer with bleach and water trying to knock back the mildew in our homes. Remember that the next time you’re thinking about air conditioning.
