Not once or twice have I called my HVAC serviceman to come and service my ac unit.
The problem with me is that once I get used to doing something in a particular way or relying on someone for something, it takes me a while to change my mind.
This is one of the busiest technicians around town so I couldn’t let him go. Even the HVAC supplier that recommended him to me has repeatedly suggested that I rely on a different air conditioning expert, but I was not having it. My preferred technician understands my HVAC brands, and to top it up, I have never used a different person since I upgraded to heated floors. I would feel like I lack indoor air quality or the temperature control would be impossible to control if I relied on someone else. Because of his busy schedule, I decided to troubleshoot the problem myself. I wasn’t going overboard with it, just checking for cracks and peeking to see if duct cleaning was necessary or the thermostat was functioning appropriately, inspecting the condition of the belts, vents, and ducts, and examining the drainage lines based on tips I found online. There are a couple of things I couldn’t do like taking apart the new HVAC equipment to check the filter or clean it for dust. I am hardly around when the air conditioning repair service is due, that’s why I have a problem getting the technician to commit. And I keep wondering if home services are such a hustle, how about commercial air conditioning? I understand there are lots of heating and cooling appliances, each with a different level of quality HVAC, performance, grade and pricing.
