Although, that is something else that is waning in our new culture.
Holidays have never quite been my thing. With all the overhyped commercialism, it can believe pretty cynical to me. I also hate that our consumer culture pushes us to begin shopping for christmas while the Heating & Air Conditioning cooling plan is still running. It particularly gets to myself and others to see Christmas adverts or decorations in stores at Labor Day. This feeling is in direct competition with my innate love for the sentiment of the holiday season. I particularly love the cozy, family feeling of that time of year. And, I know both of us all tend to be a bit nice to each other. Although, that is something else that is waning in our new culture. My extended family tends to do a bit of going to see during that time of year & both of us love those partys. Our immediate family particularly likes to do a bunch of decorating during the holidays. In fact, the day after halloween, I am sent to the attic to bring down all the holiday decorations.
