I have an elderly neighbor who I’ve always been concerned about. I always go over to the house often to make sure the guy is okay. He is a very friendly guy and sometimes I even pick up groceries at the store for him. I noticed that usually he has groceries delivered to his home, and it’s because he has a hard time getting around. Sometimes I wonder if he should be in a nursing home, but he seems to be the kind of guy who never wants to have to do that. Well, this past winter season, I noticed that nobody was there helping him shovel his walkways and everything, so I went over to help him out. When he invited me inside, I came to realize that it was bitterly cold in his home. I asked if everything was okay with his heating system. He said that his heating system seemed to be dying but he couldn’t afford to call up the HVAC company. He had just a space heater that he would rest in front of, but other than that there wasn’t much keeping his house warm. I decided that I had to do something so I called up the HVAC company. He tried to stop me from doing that but I had to insist. He said that it costs a great deal of money to have the furnace repaired and he didn’t want to be a burden to anybody. I didn’t listen and I had the HVAC professional repair his furnace. It wasn’t all that expensive, and I wanted my neighbor to be safe and in good health. He thanked me when the furnace was working good again and I kept on checking up on him throughout the winter months.
