Having central air conditioning is a necessity in the southeastern area of the country year round! Even the Winter weeks can get ridiculously hot, with highs in the upper 74s plus oppressive humidity, i’m lucky to have working air conditioning, however lately I have been having difficulty with the air cooling to what I have been setting it to on the temperature control.
One afternoon before leaving my beach condo for work, I set the temperature control to 71 degrees as I always do. I don’t love for the plan to run consistently while I am not home, because then I’m spending cash for cooling an section that I am not in at the time, then when I return beach condo in the night I crank the cooling system back down to 70 degrees, which is a absolutely comfortable temperature for me. One night I observed, though, that the cooling system plan had a easily hard time getting the air temperature down to what I had set it at. Being ignorant of all of the potential reasons why this was happening did not help myself and others at all. I just chalked it up to believing that because it had been a easily warm day, the plan was struggling to get the air cooled. When I woke up the next afternoon, I got up to several inches of water on the floor around the closet that my air handler is housed in. I instantly started panicking, turned off the cooling system plus ran around looking for towels to mop up the water. I don’t think what made myself and others look in the tubing that was affixed to the handler, however I observed that water was coming from it! There was a sizable clog in the pipe, plus once I cleared it out it seemed to solve the problem.
