Today, while the HVAC technician was working on my furnace, I spent a lot of time talking to him and asking him questions about my job.
Normally, I wouldn’t ask the HVAC technician a lot of questions while he was working, but I know that this HVAC technician is competent at working while talking.
Also, my son was interested in becoming an HVAC technician, and he wanted me to ask a lot of questions so that I would be able to explain what an HVAC technician did. When the HVAC technician explained the work that he did, I knew that my son would love being an HVAC technician. The HVAC technician spends most of his day repairing HVAC units, but he also inspects and installs HVAC units whenever the HVAC company asks him too. After learning about this, I wanted to know what parts aren’t great. I knew that this HVAC technician never complained about his job, but I wanted honest feedback. He told me that HVAC technicians don’t get the same privileges as people with normal jobs. The HVAC technicians work overtime a lot, but they are never paid overtime. Also, HVAC technicians usually have to skip lunch, and he is required to work more often than most people. His HVAC company doesn’t provide a lot of benefits, but they expect a lot. I didn’t know that being an HVAC technician was that tough. The HVAC technician actually recommended a trade union for my son. I was thankful for the advice of the HVAC technician, and I made sure to sit down with my son and explain this. Maybe I could have my son meet the HVAC technician next time.
