I am the first to admit that I am not the most mechanically inclined however I have to share a situation that left myself and others feeling more clueless than ever! All of us bought our beach apartment about 3 years ago & I have been able to repair a few small things over that time. When it comes to anything more than tightening a screw or adjusting a lightbulb I depend on our partner as he grew up in a apartment where his Mom fixed just about everything. This, by the way, makes myself and others guess even more foolish at times, then i grew up in an condo where everything was just fixed for us by the building repair guy. Anyway, when the heat broke a few weeks back I called our Heating, Ventilation & A/C dealer to have them send out a corporation. All of us have a straight-forward boiler & baseboard heat which normally doesn’t require that much repair. I figured it would be an straight-forward repair & the guy would be on his way. I took the day off & waited for the service guy to show up. I figured an minute tops for the appointment & he would be on his way. Well all of that changed when he told myself and others that I would have to call in an electrician too. It turned out that mice had chewed through some of the wiring in the wall & caused the electrical ignition panel on the boiler to short circuit, not only were both of us going to have to pay to have that fixed however both of us would need the wiring fixed before both of us could turn the heat back on. I was happy to hear that our corporation had a number for someone that could come out that same day & both of us had our heat back on by eveningfall.
