Finding a cure in Florida

In case you don’t know, there is such a thing called SAD.

This acronym stands for Sun Affected Disorder.

And, it turns out, I have it. I’ve had it all our life. When I was a kid, our personality would darken the more the skies darkened. My parents just thought that I had some sort of cottage fever and just turned up the HVAC. This idea is logical considering I would perk right up once the sun came out again and the temp rose while in the Springtime. But, this pattern repeated itself over and over my whole life. I was finally given an answer when I was away at college. There truly isn’t too much to it. I need sun because our body inherently has some sort of vitamin D deficiency. I started paying attention to exactly how much UV light I was exposed to. I made sure that I consistently came home and ate supper and took our breaks out in the sun. When the weather wasn’t super cooperative, I used a sun lamp. Eventually, I chose to live in the far South so I could be in the sun much more and moved to Florida. This was the best decision I ever made. Now, in Florida, I have a sunroom built on to the side of our home. It even has come equipped with its own HVAC system. There is a mini break ductless heating and cooling plan hung on the wall in there. Now, I have the best of both worlds. There is a tremendous amount of sun that I can properly access nearly any time that I want. And, it is a area that is totally HVAC controlled.
