There’s something odd I have been going on with my heating and AC system lately, I am always familiar with my energy bills and how much I expect everything to cost every single month.
I always get charged the same amount for my heating and cooling bill, however recently the past couple weeks I observed what at first started out as a gradual increase in the prices, however then this week the price spiked up immensely.
I was scratching my head trying to figure out what would cause a sudden spike in prices for my energy bills. I had not done anything different, I knew that if my heating and AC system was not finally working efficiently or if it was old however it could be finally working extra difficult to heat and cool the home and that could cause a rise in Heating and cooling bills, and however that does not make any sense, I had recently had my Heating and A/C system serviced by the cooling professional and he said that it was perfectly fine, also my heating and AC system is not that old and so there has no reason for it to be inefficient. So what is causing this? I booked an appointment with the heating and cooling worker again to have them take another look. I was thinking they had to have been missing something. When the heat and AC guy came back out, I explained my problem and this time he did a more in-depth search, looking at things apart from just the heating and AC system itself and what he found to me was genuinely surprising. I had a piece of my HVAC duct that had a hole in it! It was allowing air to escape causing our heating and AC system to job genuinely difficult just to heat and cool our house, this explained that the rise of my energy bills thankfully all I had to do was have my HVAC duct resealed and the issue was taken care of however for a while there I was anxious.
