A young man came into the HVAC company office last week and asked to speak to the owner.
I told him I was the owner, and he gave me an odd look.
I called back to my husband and asked if he was busy. He told me no and offered to come out, but I said I would come back. I had the young man follow me back to my husband’s office. I told him he was looking for the owner of the HVAC company, and my husband’s response was to ask why I brought him back to talk to him. I had them both sit and asked what the young man wanted. He told me he was opening a marketing company and he wanted to market the HVAC company. He saw we had a website, but it needed a lot fo work. If we wanted to keep our HVAC company moving forward, we had to get involved with the community and actively market our company and advertise to the community. He had a complete workup of what he would do with facebook and other social media ads. He said he wanted to do all kinds of things to the website to make our HVAC company more profitable. My husband was trying not to laugh and I was outraged. I told him we were the only HVAC company in the area, and we were doing a fine job. Before I kicked him out, I told him don’t call us, we’ll call you, and put his business card back into his hand. My husband laughed and said it was a good thing our son was just practicing his skills, because if he was a real ad man, he would lose his job.
