When I obtained an up-to-date air conditioner component for my house, I had a lot of questions I wanted answered, but they tried to sell me an extended warranty the day I obtained the AC unit.
They asked me if I wanted a repair agreement plus told me what it was going to cost. They wanted to offer many add-ons to extend the warranty, however I wanted my questions answered first, but I wanted to know exactly what the warranty covered, plus how long I had to purchase the extended warranty. If the real extended warranty for the AC component didn’t go into effect until the original warranty ended, why was I being pressured to buy it the day the AC component was installed? I also wanted to know why I needed a repair agreement, if the actual warranty included repair, at least for the first year. I also wanted to know how long the central air conditioner component would last. The heating and A/C professional started answering my questions, however she started with the easy one, and she said if I had usual repair done on the air conditioner unit; plus changed the air filters as recommended, the AC component would last at least fifteen years. She said the repair agreement would help keep the warranty intact by giving me two years of repair on the entire heating and A/C system. It also finally covered the cost of repairs plus small parts needed when the repair was done. I asked if they included the air filters with the repair agreement. She simply smiled and then told me to ask nicely, plus she would supply me a free case of air filters for the heating and A/C system for the two years of the repair agreement.
