My dad just passed away.
- I just noticed that the Heating & A/C clicked on again.
It feels a bit weird but, I guess that would be normal. The two of us were close, especially the last two or three years. She was a very gentle woman & a real hard ass all at once. I really do appreciate all the ways she was because she was quite particular. Due to this, she left myself and others her house. This was a very shocking turn of events. There was no way I was expecting anything more than a solid handshake from our dad. She was regularly there in a pinch despite the fact that she was no charity. I can respect that. Now, I am to decide whether I am hoping to live in that home or not. The thing needs work. First thing to go is the old heating & cooling methods. This home was built in the late 30’s & is a subtle masterpiece. It will stand for the rest of time. But the Heating & A/C is more or less nonexistent based on today’s standards. There is this giant boiler in the basement for some warmth. I appreciate that category of heat but, the costs are not sustainable. On top of that, there is basically no air conditioner. I suppose there are appreciate 3 window units in the house. They were only turned on during the hottest weeks of the year. Because of this situation, I decided to meet with an Heating & A/C contractor to see what our Heating & A/C options are. I understand that the newer technologies allow for some super simple, yet creative heating & cooling plans; Perhaps just getting the Heating & A/C information will help myself and others get close to a decision on what to do with the home. It is a cool home & I could totally see myself living there. Thanks Dad.
