HVAC cooling is responsible for humidity control as well

I like the idea of getting double value out of one thing. So the fact that I get heating and cooling plus humidity control from the heat pump makes me very happy indeed. I love the fact that the heat pump is such a versatile form of residential HVAC. Living in a region that experiences more HVAC cooling than heating is ideal for the heat pump. Actually, the heat pump was sort of designed for the HVAC cooling side of quality heating and air. The heat pump is designed to do just what it’s name indicates. A heat pump works by moving, or pumping, heat energy from one place to another. In summer, it does this when the HVAC cooling process starts by extracting heat energy and exhausting it outside. Then the HVAC equipment replaces that heat energy with cooler air and we have what is considered modern HVAC cooling. But the process of exhausting that heat energy comes with the added benefit of balancing the humidity. See, as the heat pump is extracting that heat energy, it’s also taking with it a great deal of moisture from the air. And that is what balances the humidity level in the house. Of course, when there is a need for heating, we move the thermostat to the heating position. The heat pump then reverses the process by extracting heat energy from the ambient air outside and brings it inside. Talk about getting a 3 in 1 winner! The heat pump is just the most versatile and effective choice for residential HVAC in this region.
